Time Warner NYC Adds Three

By Linda Moss -- Multichannel News, 9/23/2002 9:24:00 AM

Time Warner Cable of New York City is adding Lifetime Real Women and PBS Kids to its digital lineup, along with Fine Living, officials said Monday.

Those three networks will be added to the MSO's digital package for subscribers in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Mount Vernon, N.Y., as well as Bergen and Hudson counties in New Jersey, starting Tuesday.

'These channels are fabulous additions to our digital service, and we're proud to offer them to our customers,' Time Warner Cable of New York City president Barry Rosenblum said in a prepared statement.

PBS Kids offers children's educational series from public TV station WNET in New York. Lifetime Real Women presents true-to-life series and movies told from a women's perspective, while Fine Living is the luxury lifestyle network from Scripps Networks.

Time Warner will also be making Media Korea available to digital subscribers in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and Mount Vernon. The network is currently available on digital in Staten Island and Bergen County.

Lifetime Movie Network, previously only available on digital, will move to channel 62 and be available to all standard and digital subscribers.

Also starting Tuesday, Russian Channel and TV Japan will be available on a full-time basis to digital customers, for $9.95 and $24.95 per month, respectively.

Time Warner serves 1.2 million homes in four New York City boroughs, Westchester County and northern New Jersey.
