Phoenix-Steve Rizley was named vice president and general manager of Cox Communications Inc.'s key 600,000-subscriber system here, shedding an "interim" title, the company said last Friday.
Rizley, who had been regional vice president at CableRep, Cox's advertising-sales division, stepped in after the former general manager left in August. The Phoenix system faces a competitive overbuild by Qwest Communications International Inc., and higher marketing costs there helped crimp cash-flow in the second quarter and took some blame for a late July falloff in Cox's stock price.
