Cox Rings Up Caller ID On The TV

Service Currently Available in Oklahoma City; Will Reach More Than 90% of Eligible Customers in 2009

By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 10/29/2008 7:52:00 AM

Cox Communications plans to widely roll out caller ID on the TV features in 2009, at no extra cost to customers who subscribe to both TV and phone service.

The MSO currently offers caller ID on TV in Oklahoma City and will offer it to more than 90% of eligible customers next year. The feature pops up incoming call information on the TV, allowing viewers to decide whether to take the call.

Other operators that offer caller ID on TV include Cablevision Systems and Time Warner Cable.

Cox, the eighth-largest phone company in the U.S., provides service to more than 3 million residential and business telephone customers.
