CTAM Rewards Key Volunteers With Rainmaker, TAMI Awards

Awards Will Be Presented Next Month in Boston

The Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing today named 12 people who’ll receive Rainmaker and TAMI Awards for extraordinary service to the organization.

The awards will be presented at the CTAM Summit in Boston on Tuesday, Nov. 11, from 9 to 10 a.m.

Rainmaker Awards are given to CTAM members who have played an essential role in supporting CTAM’s primary goal of helping the cable industry grow. Recipients are recognized for their exceptional contributions to CTAM’s industry initiatives. This year’s winners are:

Bob Benya, Senior Vice President On Demand, Time Warner Cable. For two years of leadership of the On Demand Consortium strategy and projects that has resulted in successful development of back office tools, consumer research and marketing best practices.

Caroline Brown, Senior Director, On Demand and ITV Product Management, Comcast. For two years of outstanding leadership of the Quality Committee of the On Demand Consortium that has developed substantive projects that improve the service delivered to the viewer through enhanced metadata and operational processes.

Sean Bunner, Operating Vice President, Advanced Services, HSN. For innovative leadership of the On Demand Consortium’s Consumer Experience Committee; securing sponsorship of a robust research project to enhance understanding of the consumer entertainment and communications behaviors and define priorities to improve cable on demand services and delivery.

Kurt Fennell, Vice President Product Management, Time Warner Cable. For his ongoing support and guidance that have resulted in effective communication of cable’s B2B opportunities at 2008 industry events (CableLabs, The Cable Show and The CTAM Summit), and in more impactful and successful business services committee activities.

Carol Hinnant, Senior Vice President Business Development, Rentrak. For her strategic support of two major projects of the On Demand Consortium’s Advanced Advertising Committee. She leads the information gathering and compilation for data reporting, posting and billing section of the On Demand Work Flow Process, as well as contributing analytical support for the Metrics and Reporting Survey.

Scott McKeen, Director Field Marketing, Time Warner Cable. For his vision of cable-wide bidding for the U.S. Postal Service mover product marketing and successful leadership of the Cable Mover projects.

Jennifer Mooney, Group Vice President PR and Government Affairs, Bright House Networks. For leadership of the Integrated Communications Committee, bringing together PR executives to support marketing with consumer communications, including the Cable Innovates, Cable Mover Hotline and Business Services initiatives, garnering more than 125 million earned media impressions.

TAMI Awards recognize exceptional volunteer service and creativity in leading projects that benefit individual CTAM members. This year’s recipients are:

Linda Finney, Vice President Affiliate Marketing, truTV. For super-serving CTAM’s network consumer marketing community, leading the 2006 and 2007 educational events, which dug into cross-platform marketing strategies and drew a crowd of executives new to the CTAM experience. Then the 2008 “Rules of Engagement” tested a speed-learning format, and brought ad sales, media buying and research into the mix.

Paul Hockenbury, Senior Director Market Research, Comcast. For his multi-year involvement and support of CTAM research, including serving as the current co-chair of the CTAM MSO Research Working Group. He’s guided the selection of research topics, weighed in on methodology and shared insights gained through years of cable experience to advance cable marketing through research and analysis.

Doug Hurst, Senior Vice President and General Manager Non-Linear Distribution, Scripps Networks. For never giving up the good fight for the Mark Awards competition. With three years of dedication and persistence, Hurst continued to elevate the prestige of the award by designing a new statue, recruiting higher-level executive judges and breaking the mold with a fun-filled awards event.

Heather McCallion, Vice President East Region Affiliate Sales, NBC Universal. For resuscitating CTAM Caribbean and building it into a vibrant award-winning chapter with a signature event that rivals its mainland siblings.

Reece Ritter, Director Marketing Research, Cox Communications. For her co-leadership of the 2008 Research Conference which set record attendance and achieved high satisfaction scores for the Hollywood (California) meeting.
