Sundance Picks Up One-Dozen Films
Cable Network Also Promotes Barry to Senior Vice President, Digital Media and Business Strategy

Sundance Channel acquired the television rights to one-dozen new independent films from Arthouse Films, Celluloid Dreams/Dreamachine, MK-2, Strand Releasing and THINKFilm.
The films included in the agreements are:
• From Arthouse: Black, White and Gray, Conversations with Basquiat, Jack Smith and the Destruction of Atlantis and Peter Beard: Scrapbooks from Africa and Beyond;
• From Celluloid Dreams/Dreamachine: Brand Upon the Brain and Curtain Raiser;
• From MK-2: Best of Bèjart and 2007 Sundance Film Festival Award winner The Legacy;
• From Strand: The YacoubianBuilding; and
• From THINKFilm: 2007 Sundance Film Festival award-winning WAR/DANCE and Lake of Fire.
In other Sundance Channel news, the network promoted Christopher Barry to senior vice president, digital media and business strategy, from VP, digital media and business strategy.
He will continue to oversee the network’s Web site, including content strategy and third-party partnerships, and will be responsible for extending Sundance’s content to mobile and electronic sell-through platforms.
