ReelzChannel will air episodes of the weekly syndicated movie-review show At the Movies With Ebert & Roper, beginning Feb. 26, as part of a deal reached between the more-than-35-million-subscriber channel and Disney-ABC Domestic Television.
Under the agreement, terms of which were not disclosed, Los Angeles-based ReelzChannel will have an exclusive cable window during the week immediately following the original syndicated broadcast of each episode of At the Movies With Ebert & Roeper, which provides on-air reviews of the latest Hollywood theatrical releases. The show also offers recaps of films recently released on DVD.
ReelzChannel executive vice president and general manager Terry O’Reilly said the show will complement the network’s lineup of original entertainment-based shows such as Dailies, Movie Mob and The Directors.
“There is no movie-review program in all of television that has more respect and credibility than this series,” said O’Reilly. “It further establishes us as the 'go to’ place on TV and online for in-depth movie news, information and entertainment. We know that is a big help to movie fans in making informed decisions when choosing movies they want to watch in theatres or in their own homes.”
