HBO Tuesday said it entered into an exclusive development deal with actor/writer/producer Charles S. Dutton to create several projects for the pay cable service.
The agreement covers the development of series, movies and miniseries featuring Dutton, widely known for his hit series Roc, which aired on the Fox broadcasting network in the 1990s. Dutton’s HBO credits include acting roles on the hit series Oz and The Sopranos, as well as directing the HBO original movie First Time Felon, and network miniseries The Corner, for which he received a Best Director Emmy.
“HBO has enjoyed a long and fruitful partnership with ‘Roc’ Dutton, and we are looking forward to teaming up with him on other exciting ventures,” said Michael Lombardo, HBO president, Programming Group and West Coast Operations for the network.
Added Dutton: “I’m excited to renew my long-standing relationship with HBO. I look forward to developing other projects that will have the same stamp of excellence as our previous collaborations.”
