AvatarLabs, a Tarzana, Calif.-based entertainment-industry motion graphics and design studio, has added Brendan Lundeen as director, production. He comes from Big Interactive, where he was senior producer, account manager, responsible for the FX account.

BET

BET Networks made several hires and promotions in its entertainment division: Brett King has been named senior vice president, scripted programming; Robyn Lattaker-Johnson has been promoted to senior vice president, development, reality programming; Sitarah Pendelton was appointed vice president, development; Audrey LaCatis Onyeike was named vice president, talent; and Melanie Massie has been promoted to vice president, talent.

Also, Shaun Williams was named vice president, business operations.

BermanBraun

Mike Weetman was named chief operations officer at independent production company BermanBraun. He comes from Yahoo, where he was chief financial officer of the network division.

Comedy

Comedy Central has elevated Michele Ganeless to president of the network. She had been executive VP, general manager.

Cox

Cox Communications has elevated Randy Kinsey to executive director, network architecture, based in Atlanta. A Cox employee since 1999, he joined the company as manager, high-speed data in the Las Vegas system.

Cox also promoted Paul Farley to director, network intelligence and security engineering. He had been a product development security engineer.

Also, Matthew Hayes advanced to director, network engineering. He had been manager, network engineering.

And Kathy Gillis was named vice president, human resources in Cox’s New England region. She had been senior regional human resources director at Aramark Corp.’s Uniform Services/Weargard division.

Discovery

Joshua Freeman was named executive vice president, digital media at Discovery Communications. He comes from AOL, where he was senior vice president, operations and planning, AOL Products.

Also, Sahar Elhabashi was named chief operating officer of Discovery Networks International, based in London. He had been executive VP, strategy and digital media at MTV Networks International.

EuroNews

Jill Grinda has joined international news channel EuroNews as director, worldwide distribution. She had been regional director, Europe, at Al Jazeera English.

Goodman Media

New York-based media public-relations firm Goodman Media has promoted Jessie duPont to account executive from assistant account executive and added four assistant account executives: Carly Jansen, Lisa Sepulveda, Rebecca Stein and Colleen White.

Katz

Katz Media Group has added Dave Bisceglia as Chicago-based vice president, general manager of the American and National divisions of Millenium Sales & Marketing. He was senior VP, director of sales at Blair Television, Chicago.

MSG Media

Madison Square Garden Media has named Eric Swanson as vice president, programming and acquisitions. He comes from IMG Media, where he was VP, international program sales and consulting.

Nat Geo

National Geographic Digital Media has named John Caldwell vice president, strategic development and operations. He had been VP, corporate development at Revolution Health Group, a consumer health-media startup.

Proxillant

Maynard, Mass.-based cable-technology vendor Proxillant Systems named Brent Levetan vice president, sales and business development. He comes from Vyyo, where he was VP, business development.

QVC

Home-shopping network QVC has named Beth Rubino as senior vice president, human resources. She had been director, human-resources operations and services.

Rainbow

Olivia Dupuis has joined Rainbow Media Holdings as director, corporate communications. She comes from public-relations firm Goodman Media International, where she was an account director.

Starz

Starz Entertainment has tapped Peter Demas as executive director, key initiatives. He comes from MediaVest, where he was VP, group director of production and entertainment marketing. Also, Rachel Falleroni was tapped as executive director, program planning and scheduling. She comes from HorseTV Media Group, where she was VP, head of programming for The HorseTV Channel and HorseTVAccess.

Turner

Turner Broadcasting System has elevated Jonathan Katz to senior vice president, general manager of program planning of Turner Entertainment Group and PeachtreeTV (WPCH), the local Atlanta broadcast outlet set to launch in place of the over-the-air simulcast of TBS in October. He was VP, marketing at CNN Newsource Sales.
