Cable Convention Attendance Dips

Some 15,000 Attended The Cable Show '07

By Steve Donohue -- Multichannel News, May 10, 2007

About 15,000 people attended The Cable Show '07 convention in Las Vegas this week, according to projections from the National Cable & Telecommunications Association.

Attendance dropped by about 500 from last year’s confab, when the NCTA said about 15,500 people attended the convention, then known as the National Show, in Atlanta.

It’s the second consecutive year that attendance has dropped at the convention. The NCTA drew about 17,000 people to the 2005 convention in San Francisco.

The Cable Show is scheduled to be held in New Orleans next year, and in 2009, the NCTA will hold the cable industry’s annual convention in Washington, D.C.
