Comedy Central Wins a Webby

By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 5/3/2005 12:55:00 PM

Comedy Central won a Webby Award as Best Television Site of 2005 for the “Indecision 2004” portion of its Web site (www.comedycentral.com).

Webby Awards are voted on by members of an organization called the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences. Winners will be honored at a ceremony in New York City on June 6, hosted by comedian Rob Corrdry of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show With Jon Stewart. Material from The Daily Show’s coverage of the 2004 presidential election makes up much of the Indecision site.

In other categories, ChannelOne.com won a Webby in the Youth category and Court TV’s Crime Library (www.crimelibrary.com) won a People’s Voice Award in the Law category, having received the most votes on an Internet poll.
