Come fall, CBS viewers can say goodbye to Dora the Explorer and Little Bill.
DIC Entertainment Corp. has reached a five-year pact with CBS to present a branded kids’ block on the broadcaster on Saturday mornings. “CBS’ Secret Saturday Morning Slumber Party” will supplant “Nick Jr. on CBS,” a pairing by the former corporate cousins since 2000.
Kids’ kingpin Nickelodeon, which had been supplying the Saturday-morning fare, is now part of Viacom Inc, led by Tom Freston, while CBS Corp. is run by Les Moonves.
The company was divided into the separate entities Jan. 1
Nickelodeon officials did not return calls about the impending change of the programming block.
