Ensequence Earns Gold With Dish’s ITV Olympics Fare

Vendor Enables Mosaic Channel, Extra Content Tied To NBCU’s Games Coverage

Dish Network is working with Ensequence to provide interactive features to NBC Universal’s coverage of the Beijing Olympics.

Ensquence’s interactive television applications will manifest via a mosaic channel during the Summer Games from Aug. 8 through Aug. 24. Available to more than 12 million ITV-enabled Dish customers, the mosaic allows subscribers to watch six screens simultaneously: CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, USA Network and two Olympics highlights channels. Or they can select one channel to watch in full-screen mode.

Additionally, Ensequence was chosen by NBCU to provide a separate interactive application on DishHOME (channel. 100), where viewers can use their remote to access athlete profiles; read late-breaking news; view highlights of the day’s events; track nations’medal counts; see the team USA report; find out more about Beijing and event venues; and learn more about featured sponsors.

“Dish Network’s iTV mosaic is an excellent platform to showcase NBCU’s coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games by giving customers a unique viewing experience that allows them to watch four live events and two highlight channels or select one channel for full-screen viewing,” said Dish executive vice president Michael Kelly in a statement. “The mosaic is an important component of Dish Network’s more than 25 existing iTV channels – the most offered by any pay-TV provider in the U.S. – and serves as a great option for fans of NBCU’s 2008 Olympic Games coverage to follow their favorite events and athletes.”
