TNT Wins Weekly Primetime Battle
NBA Playoffs Coverage Drives Ratings; Nickelodeon Wins Total-Day Category

Propelled by its coverage of the National Basketball Association playoffs, TNT won the basic-cable primetime-ratings race last week, averaging a 2.7 Nielsen Media Research rating.
TNT topped USA Network (2.5); Disney Channel (1.9); ESPN (1.7); Lifetime Television (1.4); TBS (1.3); and Cartoon Network (1.2) in primetime.
There was a four-way tie for eighth place, with A&E Network, Fox News Channel, Spike TV and Nick at Nite each posting a 1.1 rating.
TNT’s coverage of the Detroit Pistons-Cleveland Cavaliers game June 2 was the top program on cable for the week of May 28, scoring a 5.8 rating. The May 31 Cavaliers-Pistons game was the second-most-popular show, posting a 4.8.
Also performing well last week: USA’s The Starter Wife (4.3 rating); ESPN’s June 3 New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox Major League Baseball game (4.2); and the 10 p.m. hour of USA’s WWE Raw (3.3).
Nickelodeon won the total-day programming period, averaging a 1.6 rating. It was followed by Disney and TNT (1.3); USA (1.1); Cartoon (1.0); Lifetime, ESPN and TBS (0.8); and A&E and Fox News (0.7).
