The National Cable & Telecommunications Association announced two speaker additions and regards from President George W. Bush for its upcoming National Show.
Advance/Newhouse Communications chairman and CEO Robert Miron will join the convention's opening general session, "Cable: A Great American Success Story," Sunday at 1 p.m. (EST).
And Liberty Media Corp. CEO Greg Maffei was added to the confab’s closing general session, "Converging on Change: What's in Store ... and Who's Behind It," Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The NCTA also received a letter from President Bush.
“Freedom of speech and the free flow of ideas are vital foundations of democracy and help foster a culture of ingenuity, interaction and imagination," Bush wrote. "By providing a medium for information and expression, the cable and telecommunications industry keeps the American people connected, entertained and up to date on current events. This convention is an opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss best practices that will help our country to stay on the cutting edge of technology.”
The 2006 National Show, the NCTA's 55th Annual Convention and International Exposition, will be held Sunday-Tuesday at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
