WWE, which owns the ECW franchise, said it will stream the weekly program on its highly trafficked website free of charge for one full week. The program, which airs Tuesday evenings on the 93 million-subscriber Sci Fi Channel, is made available as a video stream each week on Wednesday afternoons, and is shown through the following Monday.
Viewers are able to see each show in its entirety and have the ability to fast-forward, rewind and pause the digital content, according to the company.
In addition to the televised ECW programming, online viewers can also access a package of post-show content dubbed After the Bell that’s currently available only to AT&T mobile customers.
The announcement comes on the heels of a renewal agreement between Sci Fi Channel and ECW that will keep the wrestling franchise on the network through 2008 (http://www.multichannel.com/article/CA6494041.html?). The weekly series is averaging 1.9 million viewers, according to Sci Fi executives.
