Ohio Telco Picks Tandberg TV

Tandberg Television announced Tuesday that Chillicothe Telephone, a division of Chillicothe, Ohio-based communications company Horizon Telcom, selected its iPlex video headend as part of adding more than 45 video channels to its TV-over-VDSL (video digital subscriber line) asynchronous-transfer-mode network.
Chillicothe Telephone will add several new HDTV channels, including those of The Outdoor Channel, Food Network, Starz Entertainment Group, ESPN and National Geographic.
The company will also replace the video processing on more than 20 of its existing 130 standard-definition channels using Tandberg's MPEG-2 encoding equipment.
Chillicothe Telephone has more than 35,000 access lines in the Chillicothe, Ohio, area.
