WGA Tables Pitch to Wall St. Analysts
Striking Writers' Pitch Might Have Inflamed Tensions

The striking Writers Guild of America has abruptly cancelled plans to meet next week with Wall Street analysts who follow CBS Corp., several published reports said Thursday.
The guild had invited analysts to a presentation Tuesday at the Cornell Club in New York City, where it planned to outline how the strike, now in its 13th week, was financially hurting CBS, according to The Los Angeles Times and Variety.
On Wednesday, the WGA pulled the plug on its presentation.
CBS, part of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, is one of the companies that the WGA is currently negotiating with in an attempt to reach a new contract.
The WGA’s plans to do the financial presentation – while both sides are back at the bargaining table and reportedly making progress – could once again have ratcheted up tensions between the union and the studios.
On other news, the WGA has also reportedly done an interim deal with Overture Films, which is backed by Liberty Media.
