By Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 4/19/2008 12:50:00 PM

Sci Fi Channel has elected to extend the current season of its reality series Ghost Hunters and Destination Truth.

Ghost HuntersThe NBC Universal service has ordered 13 more installments of Ghost Hunters from Craig Piligian's Pilgrim Films and Television (American Chopper, Dirty Jobs, The Ultimate Fighter), elongating its fourth season. The show, debuting in October 2004, features Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson as plumbers by day, ghost hunters by night. It airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m.

In 2008, new episodes of Ghost Hunters and its spin-off, Ghost Hunters International, will culminate in the third annual Ghost Hunters Live event on Halloween night.

Sci Fi also added seven episodes to the second season of Destination Truth from Ping Pong Productions.

In the second season of Destination Truth, adventurer and truth-seeker Josh Gates takes viewers off the map in his search for answers to some the world’s most notorious unexplained mysteries. The show features myriad exotic locales, stunning finds and fascinating eyewitness accounts, with Gates bringing his humor to all-new investigations.

The fresh installments will conclude Destination Truth’s second season in the fall.
