Consumers will have a chance to rub elbows with National Football League greats thanks to a component of a sweepstakes package ESPN is offering as part of a late summer/fall local ad-sales promotion.
Affiliates will sell local advertisers on the promotion, “Legends of Monday,” and the local businesses will display point-of-sale materials designed to drive consumers into their stores to fill out an application to win six regional prize packages.
“We think any [genre] of advertiser would be interested in this promotion,” said David Preschlack, executive vice president of affiliate sales and marketing, Disney-ESPN media networks group. The promotion offers a prize that is “uniquely ESPN,” desirable to any passionate football fan, he said.
The regional grand prize packages include airfare, hotel, meals and airport transfers for a winner and a guest, who will attend the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., on Dec. 8
The winning duo will get a tour of the ESPN production facilities on-site and a meet-and-greet with ESPN Monday Night Football talent, including analyst Ron Jaworski and play-by-play man Mike Tirico. They'll then watch the game in a luxury box, with NFL legends including Marcus Allen, Lawrence Taylor, Tony Dorsett and Ronnie Lott.
