The debut of Spike TV’s first original scripted action-adventure series, Blade: The Series, was a record-setter for the men’s-targeted network.
The premiere Wednesday from 10 p.m.-midnight (EST/PST) earned a 2.0 Nielsen Media Research household rating and drew 2.5 million viewers, both representing Spike TV records.
Spike TV also announced that iTunes Music Store users can download a free copy of the two-hour premiere episode through July 11. And new episodes of Blade: The Series will be available for purchase on iTunes the day after they air on the network.
