SCTE: Cable-Tec Expo Attendance Up 6%

10,700 Flock to Orlando; Fawaz to Chair 2008 Confab in Philadelphia

The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers said its Cable-Tec Expo 2007, held this week in Orlando, Fla., had 10,700 attendees, up 6% from last year’s event.

“Orlando is a tremendous Expo venue for our members, and this year further underscores that truth,” SCTE CEO John Clark said in a prepared statement. “We’ve enjoyed an electric atmosphere here this week, and I trust that all of our attendees are leaving here recharged and better prepared to face their professional challenges and opportunities.”

The SCTE also announced that Charter Communications chief technology officer Marwan Fawaz will be chairman of the Cable-Tec Expo 2008 program subcommittee. Next year’s conference is scheduled for June 24-27 in Philadelphia.
