Versus Elevates Fein To EVP

Exec Key To Securing Number Of Properties For Competition Network

By Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 1/24/2008 9:09:00 AM

Versus has promoted Marc Fein to executive vice president of programming, production and business operations.

Fein, who has been serving as senior vice president for the network and its predecessor OLN over the past four years, has been instrumental in all of the Comcast-owned service’s deals, running the gamut from rights negotiations, distribution and sales to new-media initiatives and event production.

During his tenure, Fein has helped the network acquire a number of new sports properties including, Pac-10 and Big 12 college football and World Extreme Cagefighting. Additionally, network officials said he was a key player in the negotiations to bring the National Hockey League, the America’s Cup and the Boston Marathon to Versus and in extending its contract with the PBR

"Marc’s strategic programming decisions and steadfast commitment to best-in-class productions for all of our key properties was instrumental in the network's successful transition from OLN to Versus, as well as the positive growth trends in ratings, viewership and distribution,” said Versus president Gavin Harvey in a statement. “His continued contributions are the reason we turned the corner as a network and why Versus will remain a top sports destination.”
