Cablevision To Deliver Mets Games In Spanish

Twenty-Five Home Games Will Be Broadcast To iO En Espanol Customers

By Larry Barrett -- Multichannel News, 4/14/2008 7:43:00 AM

Cablevision Systems Monday announced it will broadcast a total of 25 New York Mets home games in Spanish to customers subscribing to its iO en español (iOe) service throughout the season.

The games will be available on channel 231 as part of the cable system’s Spanish-language programming package.

All 25 games will be broadcast live with the Mets’ Spanish broadcast team of Max Perez Jiminez and Juan Alicea making the call.

“Based on the success and popularity of offering select Mets games in Spanish during the past two seasons, Cablevision is pleased to deliver in-language Mets games to our Spanish-speaking customers for the third year in a row,” John Trierweiler, Cablevision’s senior vice president of product management, said in a statement.

“Diverse and high-quality international programming is an important part of our award-winning digital cable service, and this is a unique and valuable addition to the iO en español programming package, provided at no additional cost to iOe customers,” he added.
