More than 800,000 people registered for the March Madness on Demand Internet coverage of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, CBS SportsLine said late Thursday.

The company said the registered Web surfers “visited” the MMOD video player more than 1.5 million times Thursday, the opening day of the tournament.

There were more than 189,000 users waiting in line to get into the video player before the tipoff of the first game, Maryland vs. Davidson, CBS SportsLine added.
