BROTHER OUTSIDER: THE LIFE OF BAYARD RUSTIN
(Logo, Saturday, Jan. 19, 8 p.m.)
The Rundown: New season of Logo's “Real Momentum” docu series kicks off with a riveting look at largely unsung Civil Rights Movement hero Bayard Rustin.
Pros: Chronicles Rustin's commitment to justice and his openly gay lifestyle with intelligence, candor and humanity.
Cons: Viewers unaccustomed to tuning in Logo will miss out.
The Score: Mix of archival material and interviews is engaging and enlightening.

BREAKING BAD
(AMC, Sunday, Jan. 20, 10 p.m.)
The Rundown: An everyman, stricken with inoperable lung cancer, pursues family financial security by cooking up crystal meth.
Pros: Understated humor and middle-age and middle-class angst combust within high-school chemistry teacher Walter White's (Bryan Cranston) new criminal world.
Cons: Could be hurt by incongruent comparisons to Showtime's lighter Weeds.
The Score: Three episodes were screened; sign me up for the other four.
