Time Warner Cable Pitches Business Phone in New York Region
Operator to Offer Flat-Rate Unlimited Calling for Small and Medium Businesses

Time Warner Cable, taking aim at Verizon and other telcos, will offer “business-grade” phone services – which include flat-rate, unlimited local and long-distance calling in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico – to small and medium-size businesses in its New York operating area.
The operator’s Business Class Phone service will be available starting Wednesday in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Mt. Vernon and Hudson Valley, N.Y., and Bergen County, N.J.
Time Warner Cable also provides data and video services for businesses in New York and New Jersey, including Metro Ethernet solutions and dedicated Internet access, and said it will offer discounts for business customers that opt for a multiservice bundle.
“Our ability to seamlessly bundle Business Class Phone with other business communications services makes us a single-source option for small and mid-sized business customers,” Bhupender Kaul, vice president of business services for Time Warner Cable of New York and New Jersey, said in a statement.
The Business Class Phone service includes business-oriented features such as inbound and outbound call restrictions, three-way call transfer. Customers that switch can also keep their existing phone numbers and directory listing for no extra charge.
Across its U.S. footprint, Time Warner Cable currently serves 2.6 million residential voice customers.
