The Who Tribute Ready To Rock on VH1

Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters Among Performers Honoring Brit Rock Legends

By Larry Barrett -- Multichannel News, 7/11/2008 7:31:00 AM

VH1 is serving up a multiplatform experience for fans of the British rock group The Who, the subject of the network’s latest VH1 Rock Honors series.

The network will tape the tribute concert—featuring live performances by Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Incubus, Tenacious D and The Who itself—on Saturday, July 12 at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.

VH1 Rock Honors: The Who will be broadcast Thursday, July 17 at p.m. ET.

But fans who can’t wait a few days can start accessing “sneak peek” performances, backstage celebrity interviews and behind-the-scenes video beginning Tuesday, July 15 at Rock.VH1.com.

The Office’s Rainn Wilson, who also stars in the upcoming comedy feature, The Rocker, will serve as the backstage host, interviewing both performers and presenters exclusively for VH1.com.
