Wegener announced that Conklin-Intracom placed an order totaling more than $1.6 million for IPTV set-top boxes to be deployed by several unnamed telco operators.
The order is for a combination of Wegener's SMD-515 set tops and remote controls for IPTV services, including video-on-demand and integrated digital video recording. The SMD-515 IPTV set top supports MPEG-4 (H.264) and MPEG-2 decoding in standard- and high-definition video formats.
Conklin-Intracom has an agreement to resell the Wegener boxes as part of its fs|cdn integrated middleware and conditional access IPTV solution.
“Given Conklin-Intracom’s expanding domestic and international client list for premium video services, we’re very enthusiastic about the future prospects for our relationship,” said Wegener president and COO Ned Mountain, in a statement.
Conklin-Intracom’s order was received during Wegener's second quarter of fiscal 2008 ending in early March. Shipments are scheduled for delivery during its third and fourth quarters of fiscal 2008, which run from March through the end of August.
