National Geographic Channel HD expanded its national reach when Fox Cable Networks reached a deal with Cox Communications Tuesday that will make the network available in every Cox HD subscriber’s home.
The No. 1-requested HD channel over the past three years, according to Beta Research, will start to be available this year on Cox systems and will be completely implemented across the board by 2009.
The less-than-two-year-old network has almost 6 million HD subscribers and is the fifth-largest HD network.
“Cox is committed to offering our customers the high-quality HD channels that they want, and we are pleased to add National Geographic Channel HD to our lineup,” vice president of product marketing David Pugliese said in a prepared statement.
