Cable-operator members of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association committed to provide parents with more software and educational tools designed to block children from accessing inappropriate Internet content, two cable-industry officials said Tuesday night.
The NCTA issued a press release Tuesday night announcing a June 6 press briefing to “announce a new cable-industry initiative,” but it didn’t provide any details.
The officials said the NCTA’s briefing would focus not just on the new online-safety tools for children, but also on policies and practices that cable companies have been following for years.
