By Linda Moss -- Multichannel News, 9/12/2007 7:40:00 AM MT

Ovation TV, dedicated to art and personal creativity, will premiere its first original series, Art & the City, since re-launching in April, officials said Wednesday.

The half-hour series premieres, hosted by Los Angeles Times reporter and Travel + LeisureMagazine correspondent David A. Keeps, will debut with back-to-back original episodes Sunday, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. before moving to its regular Wednesday 8 p.m. time slot beginning Oct. 10. The first two episodes will explore the cultural highlights of Chicago and Paris, respectively.

Art & the City will lead cultural tourists on discoveries of arts, architecture and design in uncovered corners, highly regarded museums and culinary sites of well-traveled destinations throughout the United States and Europe. In separate episodes, the series goes behind-the-scenes of the culture beats of Chicago, Paris, New York City, Los Angeles, London and New Orleans, touring artists’ studios, renowned museums, quirky and historical locales, and delectable culinary destinations that serve up authentic specialty foods specific to each city.

On Oct. 3, www.OvationTV.com will post a special preview video of the first episode of the series and invite users to submit photographs of art in their own city to artandthecity@ovationtv.com for inclusion in the online photo gallery and in planned on-air short-form programming.

Art & the City is being produced for Ovation TV by award-winning production company World of Wonder, best known for award-winning films and documentaries such as The Eyes of Tammy Faye and Party Monster.  Most recently World of Wonder produced the television series Tori & Dean: Inn Love for Oxygen; The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman for IFC; and Million Dollar Listing, currently in its second season on Bravo.
