Bloomberg Television’s Money & Politics program will address FCC chairman Kevin Martin’s “70/70” proposal tonight and after Tuesday’s commission meeting.
Monday night, Adam Thierer of the CATO Institute and Andrew Schwartzman, president of the Media Access Project, will discuss the 70/70 rule of the Cable Communications Act of 1984 and their take on Federal Communications Commission chairman Martin's proposal for new regulations on the cable industry. Martin has indicated support for a vote that would give the commission expanded powers over the cable industry after a formal finding that the cable penetration of U.S. households had grown above 70%.
On Tuesday's Money and Politics, Bloomberg’s Peter Cook will interview National Cable & Telecommunications Association president Kyle McSlarrow following the FCC's five-member commission vote on the report.
Money & Politics airs every day at 7 p.m. ET and is repeated at 9 p.m.
