Time Warner NYC Takes In Eurocinema

International-film proponent Eurocinema will bow on Time Warner Cable’s Big Apple systems this month.
Time Warner Cable digital customers in the New York DMA can view theatricals from France, China, Italy, Japan and Bollywood on its International Movies on Demand channel. Titles can be viewed at any time for $3.95 over a 24-hour period, with remote-control pause, rewind and fast-forward functionality.
"Time Warner Cable can deliver films from the around the globe conveniently into customer homes," Time Warner Cable of New York and New Jersey vice president of public affairs Harriet Novet said in a prepared statement. "Starting in November, we are expanding our offerings on International Movies On Demand to include films distributed by Eurocinema. IMOD captures an array of films that appeal to community groups and mainstream viewers, as well."
In taking a bite of the Big Apple -- where Time Warner counts some 1.4 million subscribers in four of the city’s boroughs and other communities -- Eurocinema is now available to 13 million cable homes.
It also has deals with Charter Communications, Mediacom Communications, Atlantic Broadband, Bresnan Communications, Bright House Networks and Buckeye CableSystems, as well as with Shaw Communications in Canada.
