CBS College Sports said it is providing 23 distributors with free original video-on-demand highlights from the Collegiate Nationals, a festival of collegiate athletes competing in “lifestyle sports” such as beach volleyball, ultimate frisbee and snowboarding.
The programming begins Friday (July 18). Providers are: Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, select Comcast systems, Charter, Dish Network, Verizon, Bright House Networks, Insight Communications, Mediacom, RCN, HTC, Suddenlink, Blue Ridge, Wave Broadband, Alameda P&T, ETC Communications, OneSource, NPG Cable, Pioneer, San Bruno Cable TV, Sky Angel, Sunflower Broadband and Bend Broadband.
Collegiate Nationals included more than 1,000 competitors from 150 different colleges and universities and crowned 40 national men’s and women’s champions. The event roster included beach volleyball, boxing, competitive eating, flowboarding, freeskiing, snowboarding, ultimate frisbee, wakeboarding and weightlifting, as well as a music competition. More information can be found here.
The network is customizing Collegiate Nationals programming for select markets to highlight local teams and athletes who competed. The network is also providing customized cross channel spots featuring local championship teams, Web banners and VOD barker channel promotions.
In March, CBS College Sports Network and CBS Sports provided VOD from the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, including customized game highlights plus historical NCAA March Madness vignettes.
