Verizon FiOS TV has begun serving suburbs of Portland, Ore., this week, The Oregonian newspaper reports.
According to the newspaper report, Verizon is offering a package of unlimited phone calls, high-speed Internet and cable TV for $104.99 per month with a two-year commitment. Comcast has an introductory three-product bundle for $99 that rises to $129.79 after a year.
Verizon does not have an agreement to carry Comcast SportsNet Northwest, which carries Portland Trail Blazers National Basketball Association games, according to the newspaper, which said Verizon rolled out FiOS Internet more than a year ago. FiOS TV should be available to 170,000 homes in Washington County and elsewhere in the next several weeks, the report said.
