ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager finished up the first half of its initial season with strong ratings across the board, garnering more than 4.5 million viewers Tuesday night, including more than 3 million viewers 12-34.

Tuesday night’s episode was the most-watched program in cable overall among women 18-34 and viewers 12-34, easily outpacing the CW’s second installment of the new 90210 series.

Secret Life’s  Tuesday ratings were the highest for any original series in network history.

In its first 11 episodes, Secret Life more than tripled the year-ago ratings for the same time period, attracting an average of 3.8 million viewers (vs. 1.1 million) and more than quadrupled among adults 18-34 and viewers 12-34 with an average of 1.2 million and 2.5 million viewers, respectively.
