MetroCast Points to Cedar Point

MetroCast Cablevision has selected Cedar Point Communications Inc. as the switching vendor for its voice-over-Internet-protocol service.

The operator said it will deploy Cedar Point’s integrated, packet-based “SAFARI C³ Multimedia Switching System” for future residential telephony rollouts, with the initial launch, in New Hampshire, scheduled for the fall of 2006.

MetroCast serves 110,000 subscribers in Maine, New Hampshire, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
