As NASCAR teams get ready for action on their upcoming circuits, Speed will rev up 22 days of coverage from four locations, beginning Jan. 7.
Speed begins its "NASCAR Preseason Thunder" this week, presenting testing runs from NASCAR Sprint Cup , NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and, for the first time, the NASCAR Sprint Media Tour.
Testing coverage will take Speed and its announcing and production crews to Daytona, Charlotte, Las Vegas and Fontana.
"This season opens with quite a few questions to be answered," said Speed president Hunter Nickell in a statement. "There will be a lot of interest in seeing NASCAR back on the track for the first time in '08 -- Dale Jr. in a Hendrick car, Kyle Busch in a Gibbs car, the COT at every track, new title sponsors. There is no shortage of storylines for 2008 and Speed will be there from the very beginning."
Following its NASCAR Preseason Thunder, Speed will drop the flag on its move into high-definition, providing some 100 hours of coverage from Daytona Speedweeks, beginning Feb. 7. The day before, Speedtv.com will relaunch in a wide-screen format.
