The second episode of Army Wives’s second season attracted the most women 25 to 54 in Lifetime Television history.

During its June 15 debut in the 10 p.m. hour, Army Wives pulled in 4.2 million watchers, including 1.98 million of the aforementioned demo group, according to Nielsen Media Research data. That total topped the 1.97 million of women of those ages who tuned in the show’s sophomore season premiere on June 8

All told, last night’s episode earned a 3.5 household rating, down from a 3.7 average the prior week, with viewership down from 4.5 million.

However, the telecast was up 22% in household ratings, 62% among women 18 to 49 and 68% with women 25 to 54 versus the first season's second episode

Thus far in 2008, the drama has proven to be the top cable show among women 18 to 34, 18 to 49, 25 to 54 and females 18+, according to network officials.

Army Wives has also marched well across platforms Over the past 10 days, streaming of full episodes at myLifetime.com is almost 12 times greater than for the same period last year --June 1-10, 2007 compared with June 6-15, 2008. Page views grew 46% year-to-year over that same 10-day period, according to network officials.

“These strong second episode ratings clearly demonstrate the passion and commitment our viewers feel towards Army Wives,” said Susanne Daniels, President, Entertainment, Lifetime Networks, in a statement. “That loyalty, along with the creativity of the series, from the writing and acting to the directing, has made Army Wives into one of those rare television series -- must-see, appointment viewing -- that we hope will carry us through all 19 episodes, right through the summer and fall.”
