CTAM Hires Britt, Marcantel as VPs

CTAM has hired former Motorola executive Angela (Angie) Britt and former Discovery Communications executive Howard Marcantel as vice presidents.
CTAM -- which stands for Cable Telecommunications Association for Marketing -- said Britt recently joined as VP of advanced products and Marcantel is VP of educational events, having joined the organization in December.
Britt was senior director of marketing, communications and public affairs for Motorola’s Connected Home Solutions business. Combined with previous marketing leadership roles at General Instrument and Digital Broadband Applications Corp., she has significant understanding of and experience with next generation technology and products, CTAM said in a release.

n her role at CTAM she will manage the CTAM On Demand Consortium, a group of more than 200 industry representatives working to advance the On Demand category across multiple platforms; as well as help the cable industry develop and position other advanced products.
Marcantel brings his 17 years of project and event management experience in broadcast and cable television to CTAM where he will lead the development of the content for the annual CTAM Summit and other educational events.
At Discovery Communications, he most recently served as the director of competition planning and events. He also oversaw the Education Foundation at the National Association of Broadcasters; spent 10 years at the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, where he was responsible for producing educational sessions and marketing The Cable Show; and managed the CableACE Awards competition
