McCain Will Join Obama In Mississippi After All

Sen. John McCain will be making the trek to Mississippi after all to engage Sen. Barack Obama in the first presidential debate.
GOP nominee McCain indicated that Wednesday that he was suspending his campaign to return to Washington D.C. to focus on the “historic crisis” engulfing the U.S. economy and recommended postponing Friday’s debate at the University of Mississippi at 9 p.m. (ET).
Democratic nominee Obama, despite the consternation created in the capital and on Wall Street over the proposed $700 billion bailout proposal, always intended to participate in the square-off.
Now, the McCain campaign indicated he will attend the debate and then return to Washington. Obama also said he will also go back to DC after the verbal sparring is over.
At press time, Washington was still working to come to terms over the financial recovery legislation.
CNN, along with MSNBC and Fox News Channel, had planned extensive, daylong coverage leading up to, during and following the debate at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Miss.

I think that when one runs for president, it should be mandatory to resign one's position whether it be a govenor or senator, or whatever. It seems like raising money and politicking takes all the time so nothing gets accomplished anyway. If you loose the race, then you are out of the job you did not do anyway. Tough luck.
