Broadstripe Delivers Big Ten Network in Michigan

Will Launch in High Definition Next Week

By Larry Barrett -- Multichannel News, 9/25/2008 1:05:00 PM

Broadstripe said it will begin offering the Big Ten Network to its subscribers in Michigan starting Friday on Channel 55 in standard definition.

The MSO said it will launch the channel in high definition on Tuesday, Sept. 30 on Channel 412 in most areas.

“Broadstripe is pleased to be able to offer the Big Ten Network,” Frank Scotello, senior vice president of programming and product development, said in a statement. “We know that Michigan has many Spartan, Wolverine and Big Ten fans, and we expect that the network will quickly become a destination for our customers.”

When the Big Ten Network is airing more than one football game at a time, Broadstripe will offer overflow channels so that fans can see the game that is most important to them. Broadstripe also will offer video-on-demand services later this year.

Broadstripe also serves customers in Maryland, Washington and Oregon.
