By Larry Barrett -- Multichannel News, 9/9/2008 11:26:00 AM

Disney-ABC Television Group Tuesday named a trio of new executives to its digital media group, including a pair of former managers from search giant Yahoo and a former editorial director from Bravo.

The new hires were announced Tuesday by Albert Cheng, executive vice president, digital media, Disney-ABC Television Group.

Karin Timpone joins the network as senior vice president, product strategy and marketing for the digital media time. Lauren DeVillier was named vice president, digital media for the Disney Channel and Beth Johnson was added as vice president, digital media for ABC Daytime and SOAPnet.

“I am very pleased to add these talented individuals to our digital media management team,” Cheng said in the statement “The leadership, knowledge and distinguished track record of successes that Karin, Lauren and Beth bring, combined with that of our existing top-notch management team, will help us continue to lead the industry by extending Disney-ABC Television Group’s quality brands and sought-after content into new platforms and new markets.”

Timpone, who previously held senior leadership positions at Yahoo as both the head of marketing for the media division and as the corporate head of consumer/customer innovation, will be responsible for the creative marketing “vision, strategy and initiatives” of product strategy for Disney-ABC Television Group’s digital media team.

DeVillier, who most recently oversaw the Yahoo Kids business including the strategy, content, research and business management responsibilities, will be charged with overseeing the digital team that manages DisneyChannel.com, PlayhouseDisney.com and RadioDisney.com as well as other kids-based mobile efforts.

Johnson, who previously served as Bravo’s editorial director for digital media, will be responsible for leading ABC Daytime & SOAPnet digital media initiatives, including the recent relaunch of the all new SOAPnet.com Web site.
