Big Machine

Hollywood, Calif.-based creative-services studio Big Machine Design has added Anthony Kolb as a designer. He comes from Apple Computer Inc., where he was a Mac specialist and postproduction expert.

CNBC

Meredith Stark was named vice president, executive producer of CNBC.com. She comes from Gartner Inc., where she was group vice president, product platforms.

Discovery

Discovery Networks U.S. has named Jim McKairnes executive vice president, scheduling. He comes from the CBS Television Network, where he was senior VP, program planning and scheduling.

ESPN

John Papa was elevated to vice president, programming and acquisitions at ESPN Classic and ESPNews. He had been senior director, programming of ESPN International.

FremantleMedia

Julie Aribe was elevated to senior vice president, development at FremantleMedia North America, responsible for unscripted and reality television development and pilot production. She was VP, development.

Also, James Sunderland was named executive producer. He had been executive producer at Granada.

FSN South

FSN South/Turner South has named Corey Stolte director, programming of both Atlanta based networks. He comes from Fox Sports Net in Los Angeles, where he supervised national programming for its 20 regional sports networks.

Also, Michael Brouder was named director, marketing and on-air presentation at FSN South/Turner South. He comes from Superstation WGN, where he was director, creative services and marketing.

Finally, Rob Mezey was tapped as chief engineer for FSN South/Turner South. He was chief engineer at UPN station WUPA in Atlanta.

Great

Donna Britt has joined Atlanta-based television and entertainment marketing and promotion agency Great as marketing manager in its Nashvile office.

IFC

IFC Entertainment has named Lisa Schwartz senior vice president, sales and business development. She had been senior VP, national accounts at IFC parent Rainbow Media Holdings Inc.

Mav TV

Patrick Jacobs was named vice president, sales and marketing at Mav TV. He comes from Showtime Networks Inc., where he was a regional account director.

MSGN

Madison Square Garden Networks has named Lydia Murphy-Stephans as executive vice president, programming and production. She comes from media consultancy Peace Tree Inc.

NAVIC

Navic Networks has promoted Martin Wahl to director, network operations and customer support. He was senior program manager.

Scripps

Scripps Emerging Networks has named Mark Freeman director, original programming. He had been executive producer of TLC’s Ice Diaries.

Also, Greg Stroud was named creative director, Fine Living. He comes from The Weather Channel.

And Michael Winter was named director, programming at Do It Yourself Network. He comes from OLN, where he was director, development.

Tandberg

Michael Adams was appointed vice president, system architecture at Tandberg Television. He comes from Terayon Communication Systems Inc., where he was VP, video architecture and technology.

SPT

Glenn Adilman was elevated to senior vice president, development, at Sony Pictures Television, responsible for comedy. He was VP, network development.

Also, Sharon Hall was named senior vice president, development, responsible for drama projects. She had served as an executive consultant.

And SPT has added Zack Hernandez as division manager, Western region. He comes from KNSD-TV, San Diego, and Mi San Diego TV 43, where he was account manager.

Vonage

Vonage Holdings Corp. has named Timothy G. Smith as interim president, Vonage Networks Inc., responsible for the company’s global network and systems operations. He succeeds Louis Mamakos, who will serve solely as Vonage’s chief technical officer.

WGN

Superstation WGN has added Nick Guerra as vice president, director of Detroit regional sales. He was an account manager at Spike TV.

WorldLink

Los Angeles media-sales firm WorldLink has named Mary C. Pouliopoulos as executive vice president, sales and marketing. She comes from TWC Media Solutions/The Weather Channel, where she held a senior sales position.
