Darlene Chapman-Holmes was elevated to senior vice president, marketing at AmericanLife TV Network.

Comcast

Don Richey was named general manager of Comcast’s Tupelo, Miss., system. He had been general manager in Aurora, Ind.

Cox

Cox Media in Hampton Roads, Va., has named Heather Sorgen a local account executive on its Southside Sales Team. She comes from Whitlow Baker Advertising in Virginia Beach, Va., where she was media coordinator.

DataSafe

Ralph Valente was named senior vice president, sales and marketing for broadband enhancement provider DataSafe Solutions. He had been executive VP, sales and marketing for Secure Signals International.

DirecTV

DirecTV promoted Randy Satterburg to vice president of marketing.

Discovery

Discovery Networks International has named Sahar Elhabashi as chief operating officer, based in London. He comes from MTV Networks International, where he was executive VP, strategy and digital media.

ESPN

ESPN has elevated Lynne Frank to senior vice president, ESPN International, responsible for the network’s expanded business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She had been managing director, Europe.

G4

Video game-centric network G4 has promoted Robert Juster to vice president, new media and interactive. He had been executive producer, interactive.

NBC Universal

NBC Universal International Television Distribution has named Maria Sanchez as senior vice president, liaison, Latin America, Spain and Portugal. She had been VP, liaison, Spain and Portugal and will remain based in Madrid.

Nickelodeon

Jason Root advanced to senior vice president, digital, Nick.com and Nickatnite.com. He had been VP, Nick.com.

Nielsen

The Nielsen Co. has shifted Catherine Herkovic to senior vice president and managing director of National Television Client Services. Previously, she held a similar position in Nielsen’s local television service.

Kevin Svenningsen will become senior vice president and managing director of Local Television Client Services and will lead Nielsen’s local television ratings service. Previously he was senior vice president, sales and marketing for the Nielsen Agency, Broadcast and Syndicator Service.

And Tom Ziangas will become senior vice president of Nielsen Sports, where he will oversee the development of new products, sales, client service, and business strategy for television sports measurement. Previously, he was senior vice president of National Television Client Services.

Outdoor

Randy Brown has joined Outdoor Channel as senior vice president, affiliate sales and marketing. He most recently served as senior VP, distribution at The Tennis Channel and as cofounder of the Association of Independent Programming Networks.

QVC

QVC has elevated Beth Rubino to senior vice president, human resources of the home-shopping network. She was VP, human resources operations.

ReelzChannel

ReelzChannel has added Jordan Beck as vice president, on-air promotion. He had been a writer and producer on the Fox series Hell’s Kitchen.

Also, Doug Chalfont has joined Reelz as director, creative marketing solutions. He had been an editorial director at E!

Solid State

Solid State Logic has added Jerry Berger as vice president, sales for media production systems, based in New York. He had been VP, general manager at MicroFirst Engineering.

Also, Pete Wood was named sales manager, media production systems, based in London. He comes from OmniBus Systems, where he was sales manager.

Spike TV

Niels Schuurmans has been named senior vice president of brand creative and marketing for Spike TV. He had been senior VP, creative director.

Sucherman

Sucherman Consulting Group has added Ramon Escobar as a member of its senior management team. He comes from Telemundo, where he was senior executive VP, Entertainment.

Sundance

Sundance Channel has added Jean Claude Cancedda as creative director, print and broadcast design. He comes from Food Network, where he was design director.

Verizon

Michael A. Mason was named chief security officer at Verizon Communications, effective in January. Mason is currently head of the FBI’s Criminal, Cyber, Response and Services branch.
