As senior vice president and general manager of Charter Telephone, Ted Schremp essentially runs a company within a company, overseeing all of the operator’s phone launches.
Under his leadership, Charter Telephone has more than quadrupled its number of customers since the beginning of 2006.
“The triple-play bundle of voice, video and data has proven to be a powerful force for Charter and our MSO colleagues,” he said. “I am incredibly proud of what the Charter team has achieved in a relatively short period of time.”
Ironically, this wasn’t the job he was initially hired to do, which was vice president of Internet protocol product management. But it wasn’t long — four months, to be exact — before he was promoted to his current role in October 2005.
“We thrive on the challenge, the energy and the innovation it takes to make Charter Telephone and the triple-play bundle a success,” he said.
Schremp came to Charter from Hewlett-Packard, where he co-founded that company’s cable, media and entertainment organization and was responsible for developing and executing telecommunications sales and marketing strategies. He has also held leadership positions with Comcast Cellular, WinStar Communications and Cable and Wireless Inc.
