Verizon to Take On Cablevision in Nissequogue, N.Y.

Verizon continues to expand its footprint on New York’s Long Island, winning a franchise for its FiOS TV service in the village of Nissequogue, N.Y.
The Nissequogue Board of Trustees granted Verizon a video franchise Tuesday night. Verizon will challenge incumbent Cablevision Systems in the village.
Verizon has won franchises for its FiOS TV service in 57 New York communities.
On Long Island, Verizon also has franchises in the villages of Massapequa Park, Cedarhurst, Laurel Hollow, Lynbrook, Mineola, East Rockaway, Farmingdale, Valley Stream, Freeport, Williston Park, New Hyde Park, Sands Point, Bayville, Old Field, Floral Park, South Floral Park and Garden City, and in the towns of North Hempstead, Huntington, Smithtown, Hempstead, Oyster Bay and Islip.
