WorldGate Backs ATVEF For Content Development

-- Multichannel News, 6/26/2000

Trevose, Pa.-WorldGate Communications Inc. said last week that it would support Advanced Television Enhancement Forum standards with its "Channel HyperLinking" interactive-television technology used in its "Internet on Every TV" service.

ATVEF provides a cross-platform link that content developers can use to provide interactive applications that span multiple platforms.

By including ATVEF support within WorldGate's Channel HyperLinking technology, advertisers and content developers are able to reach a larger audience of interactive-TV households with a common authoring solution.

The new ATVEF extensions will be offered on the Motorola Inc. "DCT" series and Scientific-Atlanta Inc. "Explorer" series of digital set-tops; the Motorola "CFT-2200" and "SURFview" boxes; and the S-A "8600x" and "8610" boxes.
