DirecTV Hikes PPV Movie Fee to $3.99

El Segundo, Calif.-After years of holding a pay-per-view movie-price advantage over cable operators, DirecTV Inc. said last Friday that it will increase its near-video-on-demand movie pricing from $2.99 to the traditional $3.99 cable level effective Sept. 1.
The PPV-movie price hike is part of a servicewide increase that will see all of DirecTV's programming packages rise by $2 per month, spokesman Bob Marsocci said.
