Time Warner NYC To Add 9 Digi-Nets

New York-Time Warner Cable of New York City plans to add eight channels to its digital lineup Aug. 31, a system spokeswoman said last Friday.
The additions to the 1.2million-subscriber system's digital lineup are: BBC America, ESPNews, Lifetime Movie Network, Game Show Network, Toon Disney, SoapNet, adult network Pleasure and a new channel featuring Dominican programming. Home Box Office's HBO Latino will be added Sept. 18.
Toon Disney and SoapNet benefited from the retransmission-consent settlement Time Warner Inc. reached with The Walt Disney Co.
Adding LMN might be a signal that Time Warner has a new deal with Lifetime Television, but that could not be established at press time.
